Another round of apples were preserved this week. 14 pounds have turned into 6 pints of frozen applesauce (2 pints unsweetened and 2 pints mildly sweetened with cinnamon). 7.25 pounds have been canned with a little sugar and cinnamon. 4 pounds has been dried into 2 quarts of apple chips.
My rough apple estimate looks like this so far:
I have another 18 pounds that I recently picked and which look amazing. 8 pounds from a local tree that I thought I had picked everything I wanted from (I went back and found more that I missed). And when I was in Kansas City I located a tree with HUGE apples by a parking lot at a sidewalk's edge. Antioch & Shawnee Mission Parkway if you're interested...on the Antioch side. Take a ladder. I got all the low hanging fruit. You're going to love the look of these apples.
