A couple years ago I built herb/flower boxes from cedar fence boards with my son and grandpa. The boards were leftover from grandpa's fence built many years ago. He had the idea for me to put them to use. I have 6 boxes 6 feet in length and about 6 inches in width. Being shallow and long they don't take up much space and the herbs and marigolds do really well in them.
The rosemary and thyme are growing strong, so this morning I started cutting and prepping for drying. The drying screens have been so very handy. I just rinsed and stacked one screen of rosemary and two screens of thyme. The longer the screens can stay stacked outside the better, but when it rains or gets really humid I just stack them in my dining room. My plan is to keep a rotation of herbs drying at this point so I can really stock up. The basil is doing great but not ready for a lot of cutting yet. The now confined mint in a pot is doing fine too.
