If you're looking for an experience to help advance your apple peeling skills, I have the perfect project for you.
I should have counted how many of the remaining green apples I peeled today. It was 13 pounds, this I know. And with the 13 pounds I made 9 pints of sliced apples in light syrup. I also threw another round of apples into the dehydrator. So out of the 25 pounds total that I had, I have 3 quarts of apple chips, 9 pints of canned apples, and another half-pint of the apples in syrup for the freezer.
You can imagine the drill, but here it is;

You can imagine the drill, but here it is;
- Peel, core, and slice 13 pounds of apples (listen public radio and daydream)
- Boil the apples for 5 minutes in a very light, light, or medium syrup (I used a light syrup...6 cups of water with 3 cups of sugar)
- Process in the water bath for 20 minutes (if your elevation is 0-1000 ft like mine)
