The potato barrel experiment bombed. I don't know if I didn't water this plant enough or what. The plant shriveled up and died, so I dug out any taters I could save. My old seed potato, now mushy and discolored, was found next to these four Kennebec reds.
I blanched them for three minutes, dunked in ice water, and froze in a little freezer bag.
Meanwhile my bed of potatoes are doing well I think. They are alive and flowering at least, so that is something. I wish I could see what was going on under the ground. I hope I have a lot of potatoes under there. I hope I can make hash browns on some cold winter mornings and soup on some cold winter nights.
